A preponed flight...

There is a first for everything. While I was in India last week, I was totally taken aback when a relative of mine who was supposed to fly to Mumbai by Air Deccan, received a SMS from Air Deccan that the flight had been preponed by 15 mins. Thats the first I have ever heard about any public transport being preponed. I was also told that this is very common with this specific airlines. A very novel way to be a different airline. Not sure how many people are inconvenienced because of this novel idea. I wonder what happens to people who do not have a mobile phone or who do not have access to a phone on the day of travel.

Awed at Changi...

It happened yet again. Every time I transit through Singapore's Changi airport, I am awed at the constant improvement. I am sitting at one of the free laptop access terminals at the Changi airport blogging this post. The facilties at this airport surpasses any other airport I have visited around the world. Undoubtedly the number one in the list of World's best airports. Some of the facilities I have come to love are the following:
1. Free internet access with very easy connectivity even for those who do not carry a laptop around. I was surprised to see a camera and microphone attached to each of the terminals to do voice and video chats. It does show that they are a step ahead of any other airport in the world.
2. Lounge chairs to sleep comfortably attached with wake-up alarms.
3. Shower and napping facilities for a reasonable price.
4. Ample food varities.
5. Cleanest restrooms I have ever come across.
6. Free sight-seeing tour of Singapore.

Sometimes I wonder if they schedule the flights such that they force every traveller to spend atleast 3-4 hours transiting through this miniature city called Changi International airport. I cannot imagine spending 8 hours transiting through any other airport.
