Thanks to Kaps, I came across this new service from VoIP Stunt where one can make free calls to landline phones in many countries using skype like interface for free. It sounds too good to be true. I checked out the quality and I was able to manage some decent conversations. Not sure how long this will hold its free ground.. Hey, What the heck, make hay while the sun shines.. I am hoping that this would stir some interesting offers from its rivals Skype and Gizmo project. I could see a new era of free VoIP calls to landlines dawning in the horizon.
Secret posts...
I came across this blog when I was reading an article in NY Times. It was interesting going through the secrets of various unknown people and how they express it. People tend to express their thoughts much more freely when they do it anonymously and this is a classic example of that.

West wing ends...
This will be a very quick, short post. It was very disheartening to hear that they are going to pull the plug on one of my favourite primetime show "The West Wing". This is one of the first primetime shows I started watching in this country. It still is one of my favourite ones.
Home Alone...
Its 8.10PM on Sunday and I have exactly 50 mins to complete this blog before this website goes down for maintenance for 2 hours. I am watching TV, as I have been since morning, while writing this blog. "Seven" on TBS and "Hey Ram" on Sony. My beloved will be home in less than 3 hours and I am looking forward to it. She is returning from a visit to her friend's place about 2000 miles away. I have been home alone for the past 3 days.
As I was returning to work after seeing her off at the airport on Thursday, I was jokingly playing Janakaraj's dialogue from "Agni Natchathiram" where he would rejoice saying "En Pondaatti Oorukku Poyittaa!!!"(My wife had gone out of town), in my head. I was actually looking forward to experience the weekend, all to myself. This is the first time I am alone at home when my beloved is not. It usually is the other way round. She may have been thinking, "let this guy experience this once to know what I am going through every time.. " and I was going to do exactly the same.
Friday evening was very busy and so I had no time to miss her.. (I hope this line magically disappears when she reads this blog). Come Saturday morning, I was looking at an empty house. My weekend mornings usually starts around 6.30 but this time, I did not get up until about 10AM. Maybe because I was not really looking forward to come down to an empty house. Thats when the missing started. I was trying to keep myself busy with some computer stuff and I did catch up on a lot of it on Saturday. I was already missing her nagging as I was sitting in front of my computer for an hour straight. I could not remember the last time I did that. It was quite refreshing indeed. I felt a lot more energetic after I completed the work and was very fresh. I also caught up on all my recorded TV shows Saturday evening.
Sunday was a pure R&R day. Did nothing except to read the newspaper, eat lunch and watch TV. Again, missed her while reading my paper, watching TV and of course while eating lunch. I decided to cook her a good but simple dinner and I spent an hour on that. I think it came out well. I started to watch TV again and I am still doing it as I am typing this.
I wanted to go to the airport to meet her as she walks out of the security, hug her and tell her how much I missed her. I can see a smug smile on my brother's face as he reads this since he always complains I never meet him at the gate. I am going to make up to that one of these days for sure. I just felt like writing this blog out of the blue and I am not going to proof-read this as I always do with the other ones. So until the next one, So long....

Busy life...
The past week has been one of the busiest week. It feels good to start the year with a busy week. The following 3 weeks is also going to be very busy for me. Its a little disappointing that I do not get time to catch up with a lot of current affair news. Thanks to my beloved, she fills me in with more than I could take. I wanted to do this quick post as my dinner is being prepared on one side and the Indian idol is voting out 3 contestants on the other side on a busy tuesday evening. The aroma of Cauliflower/onion roast is silently indicating me to hurry up with this post and wrap it up. Its too tempting to resist...
I would like to wrap this post with just one thought. I have always been an environment friendly activist in my own way. I try to save on fossil fuels as much as I could in any which way possible. This year, I am trying to take it to a new level. I will surely blog about how I faired at the end of this year.
Until I could steal some moments like this.... Alwidha...
Ok.. Looks like blogger.com does not want me to stop here.. Its not letting me publish this post as it could not connect to blogger.com.. So I decided to continue this blog until it lets me publish it.
I have taken a new fascination to the world of making home videos and converting them to DVDs. I recently converted a home video of my dad's 60th B'day and the result was something I never expected. So that has introduced me to a new world of home videos..
OK.. blogger.com is up now and I have to go make chapathis...
So Alwidha.. again..

New years and resolutions...
Happy New Year everyone!!!.. This christmas and New year was a busy one with lots of people visiting us. For a change we were hosting people instead of visiting them. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed it.
With new year comes resolutions. Surprisingly I dont remember a lot of people asking me about my new year resolutions. Not that I had some remarkable ones but usually we are very inquisitive on what other people resolutions are. Atleast I am.. This time we did something that we normally would not do on a New Year.. We cancelled our membership to the gym since we were not using it as efficiently as we wanted to. Now thats a little strange isnt't it?
I have resolved to something this year that I do not want to reveal it on this blog. It is something very unusual for me and the first too. I wanted to see how this works out this year and if it works out well, I can share it next year. Not that I am a great enthusiast on keeping up resolutions, but I do make atleast one every year. I stick to it for the first 2-3 months and then I loose track of it. I was happy to know that I am well above national average in keeping up the resolutions. I would have become a saint if I had religiously kept up all my resolutions.
Anyways, just wanted to wish everyone a very happy new year and start this year with a fresh hope and confidence. Looking forward to some interesting things to happen this year.
